The Design Process

Our design process and artwork separates Sandy Parr from commercial emblem companies. We develop a relationship with the client resulting in beautiful designs that are unique, personal and finely crafted. We work very closely with our clients to incorporate imagery that relates to their life, event, charity, or corporation. The process is paramount to communicating visually with our clients and remaining true to the art.

Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5

  1. The process begins by working with the client to create detailed original drawings for the design of features, shape and colors of the piece.
  2. The original drawings are used to create steel dies for stamping both the front and back designs into the base metal.
  3. In Champlevé enamel the stamped depressions are then hand inlaid with powdered glass and fired at 1380 degrees.
  4. The fired peice is then ground to expose the raised metal lines of the drawing and fired again.
  5. Finally the piece is polished and filled with 14 kt. gold, sterling silver or a combination of both metals.

As with all truly fine jewelry, the back of all Sandy Parr designs receive the same special attention to detail as the front. The back design allows for a client to market themselves or change the image to depict particular sponsorships and charity events.
